Wahiba Sands
Long red dunes, a night of fire, and a proper Bedouin camp — not a parking lot of tents.

Sharqiya Sands as a place, not a stunt The Wahiba (Sharqiya) dunes run in parallel ridges for two hundred kilometres. A good camp sits in a hollow out of the wind, with proper beds, a flush, and a kitchen that does more than barbecue. We arrive for sunset, eat slowly, and leave after a dawn walk — not a 45-minute photo stop.
The approach Most circuits come via Wadi Bani Khalid’s blue pools, then Bidiyah, then the dune gate. Children like the sandboard; photographers like the hour after the generators quiet.
